DEKALB COUNTY — Two people were injured Monday morning when two passenger vehicles collided at the intersection of Route 23 and Chicago Road, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office. Both drivers, an 18-year old Mendota woman and a 62-year-old Springfield, Ohio man, were taken to area hospitals with minor injuries. Deputies allege the Mendota woman failed to yield at a stop sign before entering the intersection, leading to the crash, and was cited for failure to yield and driving without a valid license.
