Three Juveniles Arrested in DeKalb After an Incident Monday

Three Juveniles have been arrested in DeKalb following an incident Monday in the 900 Block of Kimberly Drive.  The DeKalb Police Department reports that they were called to a report of shots fired and upon arrival found spent ammunition casings at the scene.  Upon investigation, they learned a citizen had video footage that captured a large group of individuals observing a physical confrontation between two juveniles.  It escalated into several firearms being drawn and several rounds fired.  Police identified the offenders from video footage, and learned that two of the offenders were on Electronics Home Monitoring by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office. 

On Tuesday, The DeKalb Police Department apprehended one juvenile at his residence without incident and recovered two firearms, with one reported being stolen and the serial number on the firearm had been defaced.  On Wednesday, officers apprehended two additional juvenile offenders without incident.  All three offenders are from DeKalb, and were charged and processed and are being held at the River Valley Juvenile Detention Center in Joliet. 

Charges include Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, Aggravated Unlawful Possession of Weapon (no firearms owners’ ID card), Aggravated Unlawful Possession of Weapon, (no concealed carry license), Unlawful Possession of Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Firearm with requisite firearm owners’ ID card, and Unlawful Possession of Stolen Firearm.
