Sycamore Fire Department To Move Into New Station

SYCAMORE — The Sycamore Fire Department will relocate to its new Fire Station 1 on Tuesday, Feb. 17. A parade processional will begin at 9 a.m. at the current station at 535 DeKalb Ave. and travel through downtown Sycamore south on Somonauk Street to Borden Avenue and S. Prairie Drive, ending at the new station at 1351 S. Prairie Drive. After arrival, a brief ceremony will be held, the station’s American flag will be raised, and the station will go into service. An official ribbon cutting and public open house will be scheduled for late spring.
