CHICAGO — Showers and thunderstorms are expected across Illinois today, with some storms possibly becoming severe and producing heavy rainfall, strong winds, and isolated tornadoes, according to the National Weather Service.
Meteorologist Matt Friedlein said, “Some of the regional showers and storms that are around this morning will have influence on where storms develop later and how intense and long lived they will be.” Storms are expected to redevelop later in the day and continue tonight, with additional rainfall possible. Officials urge residents to stay alert for watches and warnings and have multiple ways to receive weather information.
