Rochelle to Begin Leaf Vacuuming for Residents on October 20th

ROCHELLE  — The City of Rochelle will start leaf vacuuming services for residents on October 20, 2025, running through December 1 or until an accumulating snowfall. Leaf collection will operate Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., using a vacuum towed behind a dump truck, with two vacuums during peak season. Residents are asked to rake leaves into piles no wider than five feet at the curb, clear of obstacles, and free of other yard waste, with vehicles kept 30 feet away. Leaf vacuuming will follow a schedule with Monday for areas south of 1st Avenue, Tuesday and Wednesday for areas north of 1st Avenue and east of N. 7th Street, and Thursday and Friday for areas north of 1st Avenue and west of N. 7th Street. After December 1 or snowfall, remaining leaves must be placed in paper landscape bags or containers marked with an “X” for weekly pickup through December 15.
