ROCHELLE — Chicagoland Skydiving Center in Rochelle will take part in World Skydiving Day on Saturday, joining skydivers around the world in an effort to break the record for most jumps completed in a single day. The global event, now in its second year, saw more than 30,000 skydives across 51 countries in 2024.
Lauren Pfeiffer, Skydiving Instructor at Chicagoland Skydiving Center, said she hopes mother nature keeps conditions favorable.
“We can only hope that the weather cooperates with us to help us out. But hopefully if we end up having a weather day that some people that are living around the world and maybe have better weather can help us out and make up for some of the jumps that we might miss out having not favorable weather here.”
Jumps at the Rochelle drop zone are set to begin at 8 a.m. More information is available at www.worldskydivingday.com.
