Rochelle Council Approves Special Use Permit for Adult-Use Cannabis Infuser

ROCHELLE — The Rochelle City Council approved an ordinance Monday night granting a special use permit for an adult-use cannabis infuser at 600 N. 15th Street. The facility, located in an I2 General Industrial district, meets all setback requirements, including being more than 200 feet from residential properties. The Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously approved the request on December 1, with the condition that a security plan be submitted and approved by the Rochelle Police Department.  The business will manufacture cannabis-infused products such as edibles and beverages using processed cannabis extract. It will not grow cannabis or sell products to the public.
