Pritzker Says Trump Owes Families 2000 Per Household After Supreme Court Tariff Ruling

SPRINGFIELD – Gov. J.B. Pritzker says President Donald Trump owes the families of Illinois and the United States about $2,000 per household for the illegal tariffs he imposed. Pritzker’s comments came after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled last Friday that the power to levy taxes and duties on Americans rests solely with Congress. The Liberty Justice Center said the ruling confirms that the president cannot invoke emergency powers to unilaterally set tariff rates.
