POLO — The City of Polo has purchased Polo Chamber Dollars for its employees, and local businesses are being reminded that the certificates should be treated as cash when customers use them. Chamber officials said users must sign the certificate and list the business where it is redeemed, and any remaining value must be returned as change when the full amount is not spent. Businesses can take redeemed certificates to First State Bank of Shannon and Polo, which will issue a cashier’s check that can be deposited. The chamber said the program is designed to support local shopping, and merchants receive the full face value when the certificates are redeemed.
