Officials Warn Of New Synthetic Opioid In Chicago Drug Supply

CHICAGO – Authorities are warning about a new synthetic opioid called cychlorphine appearing in the Chicago area. Federal drug agents say the substance can be up to 10 times more potent than fentanyl and has already been linked to at least 1 death involving a man from Will County who died in Chicago. Officials say the drug has been identified 3 times in Illinois and is difficult to detect in street drugs.
