Nelson Elected Illinois Farm Bureau President

CHICAGO — Illinois Farm Bureau delegates elected Philip Nelson on Monday as the organization’s seventeenth president, returning him to a post he held from 2003 to 2013 and giving him 55.6 percent of the vote. Nelson is a grain and livestock farmer from Seneca and has held roles including LaSalle County Farm Bureau president, IFB vice president, trade advisory chair for the American Farm Bureau Federation and Illinois director of agriculture. Delegates also re-elected Evan Hultine of Princeton as vice president, and five new members were chosen for the board of directors. Nelson replaces Brian Duncan, who had served as IFB vice president for six years and Ogle County Farm Bureau president for 13 years before his election as state president in 2023.
