ROCKFORD — A man is charged in a deadly Rockford shooting last week. Police say officers responded early last Monday to the parking lot of 101 15th Avenue, where they found 22-year-old Lewis Brown suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers learned the victim was shot during an argument. He died at the hospital. Detectives arrested 20-year-old Daniel Chavez-Gerde on charges of first-degree murder and outstanding warrant.
