Man Arrested After Single‑Vehicle Crash on Route 251

DAVIS JUNCTION — Ogle County deputies responded Wednesday around 9:30 p.m. to a single‑vehicle crash on the 1700 block of North Illinois Route 251 near Davis Junction. A northbound Mazda left the roadway for unknown reasons, entered the east ditch, struck an embankment, became briefly airborne and then hit a utility pole before stopping. The 21‑year‑old Rockford driver was taken to a hospital with non‑life‑threatening injuries and was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. He was also cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, improper lane usage and operating an uninsured motor vehicle and released on a notice to appear. Lynn‑Scott‑Rock Fire and EMS assisted deputies at the scene.
