SPRINGFIELD – The second lottery for deer firearm and muzzleloader permits closes on June 30. Illinois residents who were unable to apply in the first lottery or were unsuccessful in their applications can submit a second-round application through this date. Non-resident hunters are also eligible to apply for this second lottery. Applications are available online or can be mailed in, and a limit of one application per person is allowed. This is the final opportunity to secure a permit for deer hunting season.
