Glidden Homestead to Feature Clinton Rosette and NIU Lecture

DEKALB — The J.F. Glidden Homestead & Historical Center will present “‘Absorbing Ambition’: Clinton Rosette, the DeKalb Press, and the Campaign to Bring NIU to DeKalb” on Sunday, March 8, as part of its 2026 Soup-er Sundays winter lecture series. The program begins at 12 p.m. and includes complimentary soup and guided tours. Admission is five dollars and free for members. John Paris, associate professor of history at the College of DuPage, will discuss Rosette’s role in local journalism and bringing Northern Illinois University to DeKalb. The homestead is open Sundays from 12 to 4 p.m.
