WASHINGTON – Washington Illinois Mayor Lilija Stevens has selected former Rochelle City Manager Jeff Fiegenschuh as the city’s next administrator.
“Jeff Fiegenschuh’s background in strong organizational leadership, fiscal stewardship, and experience in building trusting relationships makes him an excellent fit for Washington,” Stevens said Monday night. “Jeff understands how to move projects forward while keeping residents at the center of every decision. We’re excited to welcome him into this role.”
The Washington City Council approved his employment agreement Monday night. The contract offers an annual salary of $180,000. Fiegenschuh will start on January 19, 2026. The term extends through May 2029. Fiegenschuh stepped away from his eight year tenure in Rochelle earlier this month. His contract requires him to live in Washington within ninety days. Washington will also provide up to $10,000 for his relocation expenses.
