Flags to Be Lowered Statewide in Honor of Fallen Chicago Fire Captain

SPRINGFIELD — Gov. JB Pritzker has directed that all flags covered under the Illinois Flag Display Act be flown at half-staff from sunrise Saturday, April 26, through sunset Tuesday, April 29, in honor and remembrance of Chicago Fire Department Captain David Meyer. The Department of Central Management Services issued the notice Friday, requesting that U.S. and state flags at all buildings occupied by state personnel be lowered to pay tribute to Captain Meyer’s service and sacrifice.
