SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois film industry is booming. Governor JB Pritzker announced last week that film production companies spent more than $700-million in the state last year. That, according to Pritzker, is the highest total in Illinois history. The governor stood alongside actor Joe Minoso, best known for his role as Joe Cruz on NBC’s “Chicago Fire,” to make the announcement. Minoso, who also owns a production company, says he owes a lot to the state of Illinois.
