SYCAMORE – A former DeKalb County Sheriff’s office employee is being ordered to pay more than $20,000 for lying to obtain a PPP loan during the COVID-19 pandemic. Bartholomew Ilenikhena of Cortland was sentenced by a DeKalb County Circuit Court judge to pay restitution and serve two years of probation after pleading guilty to felony theft. Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul says the 37-year-old forged a PPP loan application by falsely claiming that he owned a business that didn’t exist.
