SOMONAUK – A 67-year-old Earlville man was airlifted to a Downers Grove hospital after a two-vehicle crash near Somonauk Tuesday evening. The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office says the man was driving a sport utility vehicle east on Suydam Road around 5:20 p.m. when he allegedly failed to yield at a stop sign and was struck by a second SUV traveling south on Route 23. The second driver, a 19-year-old woman from Leland, was not injured. The crash remains under investigation.
