DeKalb Approves Airport Transportation Improvement Program

DEKALB – The City Council last week approved the Transportation Improvement Program for Federal Fiscal Years 2027–2031 at DeKalb Taylor Municipal Airport. The plan includes long-term capital projects such as rehabilitating Taxiway A and installing a new AWOS III weather system, with estimated costs of $1.27 million and $850,000. Federal grants will cover 90% of the costs, the state 5%, and the city 5%, leaving local shares of $63,500 and $42,500. Approval allows the city to pursue grant funding.
