DEKALB – The DeKalb City Council last week approved an amendment to the 2020 Annual Action Plan to reallocate $63,740 in Community Development Block Grant–COVID funds to local service agencies for urgent community needs in 2026. Of the total, $50,000 will support rental assistance, utility aid, and food security programs at agencies including Hope Haven, Voluntary Action Center, Elder Care Services, and Rooted for Good. The remaining $13,740 will fund the Owner-Occupied Home Repair Program for low- to moderate-income homeowners. The reallocation uses residual federal COVID-era funds and does not impact the City’s General Fund.
