Cubs Take Game #1 In Crosstown Series With The White Sox

The Chicago Cubs scored 6 runs in the 7th and 8th innings Friday night as they beat the Chicago White Sox 10-5 at Rate Field in the Crosstown Series.

Carson Kelly hit a tiebreaking single in the 7th inning and drove in 4 runs as the Cubs stopped a 5-game winning streak by the White Sox.

The Cubs had 14 hits in the game.

Trent Thornton got the win in relief.

The White Sox got solo home runs from Colson Montgomery, Miguel Vargas, and Jarred Kelenic.

Bryan Hudson took the loss in relief.

It was the first sellout crowd for the White Sox this season.

Game 2 in the series is Saturday night.
