Byron Man Gets 3 Years for Cyberstalking, Harassment

BYRON  —  A 43-year-old Byron man was sentenced to three years in prison July 17 after pleading guilty to stalking and harassment through electronic messages. Despite a 2023 court order to avoid contact with a woman he was convicted of battering,  Andrew Gornick sent her over 14,000 threatening emails, including 174 in four days. Some messages included death threats and images of knives. A protection order was extended through 2031, and he was ordered to pay $1,299 in court costs.
