BELVIDERE – The Boone County Fair returns to Belvidere Aug. 5–10 at 8791 IL-76, featuring livestock shows, carnival rides, food vendors, and grandstand events. Highlights include Monster Trucks, bull riding, demolition derbies, and a Saturday night concert with country star Justin Moore and Noah Hicks.
Tom Ratcliffe, Advertising Director with the Boone County Fair said the grounds will be packed with activities.
“Well, we’ve got over a hundred acres here of packed with vendors and food and entertainment and livestock, probably, oh, I don’t know, four or 5,000 head of livestock. Then we have the non-livestock exhibits, all the quilts and baked goods and photographs and posters and flowers and vegetables and all that good stuff. We probably have 5,000 exhibits of that in the Home Ec building.
New attractions include a horse-pulling event, llama and alpaca exhibits, and oxen demonstrations. The carnival runs daily from noon to 11 p.m. with midweek ride specials. Full details are at www.boonecountyfair.com.
