ROCHELLE — Birth to Five Illinois Region 47, serving Lee, Ogle, and Whiteside counties, presented new tools to support early childhood development at last week’s Rochelle City Council meeting. The organization introduced the OWL Early Childhood Resource Hub and a regional childcare toolkit to centralize resources for families and providers of children from birth to age eight.
Abby Hoskins, Regional Council Manager for Region 47, spoke about online resources they have made available.
“It includes child care tools, resource guides, helpful descriptions of programs, and a connection to coordinated intake where a parent can be connected with a referral specialist at the regional office of education if they need support,” she said.
The toolkit is being shared with local chambers of commerce to connect families and employers with childcare options. The OWL Hub is accessible online and via Facebook.
