DIXON — The Lee County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by the Amboy Police Department and Lee County Animal Control, executed a search warrant last month in Amboy as part of a narcotics investigation. Authorities later issued an arrest warrant for 61-year-old Laura A. Stroud of Amboy on multiple controlled substance and methamphetamine related charges, including intent to deliver near a school zone. On April 16, deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 1300 block of North Galena Avenue in Dixon and took Stroud into custody on the warrant. She was allegedly found with additional narcotics and charged again with possession of methamphetamine and a controlled substance, both Class 1 felonies. She is being held in the Lee County Jail pending her first appearance. All charges are allegations and she is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
