ROCHELLE – A single vehicle crash on Wednesday morning sent a 24-year-old DeKalb man with non-life-threatening injuries to the hospital. Around 6 a.m. the Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the intersection of East Ritchie Road and South Woodlawn Road in rural Rochelle, where they determined a passenger vehicle allegedly turned west onto Ritchie Road and accelerated into the southbound ditch. Authorities say the vehicle continued into a cornfield. The DeKalb man was transported to Rochelle Community Hospital. He also received citations for Improper Lane Usage and Driving Too Fast for Conditions.
