(Milan) — The US men’s ice hockey team took down Canada 2-1 in overtime of the gold medal game at the 2026 Winter Games from Milan. Jack Hughes scored the game-winning goal in the extra period.
Connor Hellebuyck was a stud between the pipes stopping 41 of the shots he faced for the Stars and Stripes.
Matt Boldy opened the scoring for the US in the first period of the game.
Team USA has now earned three gold medals in Olympic men’s ice hockey.
