Cubs’ outfielder Seiya Suzuki is on the mend from a sprained knee he suffered in the World Baseball Classic last month. He has joined Double-A Knoxville to work out with the team and then begin his rehab assignment on Friday.
Cubs manager Craig Counsell says Suzuki will play the outfield for the minor league team. He also expects him to be with Knoxville for about a week before rejoining the major league club.
