Pet of the week: I’m Honey Bee — a gentle, shy girl hoping to find a quiet, patient home where I can finally feel safe. I’m 2 years old, weigh a little over 60 pounds, and I’m waiting for you here at Tails. It takes me a little time to warm up — new people, noises, and fast movements can be scary for me. I tend to crouch low at first, but once I realize you’re calm and kind, I start to relax and even enjoy gentle pets and ear scratches. That’s when you’ll see the real me — the soft, sweet, loyal girl who just wants to love and be loved. I seem to be housebroken, know sit and lay down, and walk nicely on a leash (even though I’m still a little skittish sometimes). I’m not a fan of loud noises or sudden touches, but I do love soft treats.
Pupperoni is my favorite! I also like other dogs and don’t mind cats, so a calm animal friend might help me feel braver. The perfect home for me would be peaceful and predictable — no young kids, not too many visitors, and someone patient who will let me come out of my shell at my own pace.
