STERLING – Whiteside County deputies say 30-year-old Austin Hey allegedly threw a rock at a deputy and fought with officers Wednesday after earlier incidents at a Whiteside County Public Transportation bus and the PADS homeless shelter. Hey was taken into custody, transported for medical evaluation, and issued a Notice to Appear for aggravated battery to a police officer. Deputies were assisted by Sterling Police, CGH EMS, and Sterling Fire.
