Three Cubs players are leaving spring training for Team USA in the World Baseball Classic.
Center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong, third baseman Alex Bregman and pitcher Matthew Boyd will take part in the opening of pool play on Friday against Brazil in Houston.
Other Cubs participating in the WBC are pitcher Jameson Taillon with Canada, outfielder Seiya Suzuki with Japan, hurler Javier Assad with Mexico and closer Daniel Palencia who will play with Venezuela.
