(Mesa, AZ) — Seiya Suzuki’s Opening Day status is in doubt. The Cubs outfielder was injured during Team Japan’s loss in the World Baseball Classic over the weekend. Suzuki hurt his right knee during the losing effort.
Manager Craig Counsell wasn’t sure how severe the setback is. The 31-year-old hit .245 with 32 home runs and 103 RBI’s in 151 games with the Northsiders last year.
