ROCHELLE — Rock River Valley Blood Center will hold a blood drive at the Rochelle Park District REC Center on Tuesday, Dec. 2, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 802 Jones. RRVBC supplies the total blood needs for 14 area hospitals and collects more than 800 units of blood each week from donors in nine counties across Illinois and Wisconsin.
Maggie Anderson, Marketing and Recruitment Specialist with the Rock River Valley Blood Center, said
“Giving blood during the holidays is one of the most selfless and meaningful ways to spread joy, knowing that your contribution can make the difference between life and death for someone who needs it,” she said.
Donors are encouraged to reserve a donation time through RRVBC.org ahead of the event, though walk-ins are always welcome
“While presents may come and go, the gift of blood is a life-saving gesture that can never be replaced and is always urgently needed in hospitals across the nation, especially during the winter months.”
The not-for-profit organization is regulated by the Food and Drug Administration, accredited by the American Association of Blood Banks, and a member of America’s Blood Centers.
