ROCHELLE — The Easter Eggstravaganza is taking place this morning at Cooper Park in Rochelle starting at 11 a.m. The event, presented by the City of Rochelle, Rochelle Community Hospital, The Flagg Rochelle Park District, 102.3 The Coyote, and SuperHits 93.5, is open to children ages 0 to 10, as well as those with special needs. Participants are divided into two age groups, 0 to 5 and 6 to 10, with a special area for children with special needs beginning at 10:45 a.m. The event features an egg scramble with more than 8,000 eggs filled with candy and prizes. Free photos with the Easter Bunny are available starting at 10 a.m. courtesy of Erin Bacon of Destiny Studios, along with a chance to meet Beauty from Dreams Come True Events. Face painting with Buttercup Paints is also available. The Hub City Senior Center and Lincoln Manor Rochelle helped stuff the eggs. The event is free and will take place rain or shine.
