Rochelle Begins North 14th Street Storm Sewer Construction

ROCHELLE — Storm sewer reconstruction has begun on North 14th Street in Rochelle to install larger storm sewers and improve drainage in the area. North 14th Street is closed just south of Scott Avenue and around the curve to Highland Avenue for about 300 feet during the work. Temporary gravel driveway access will be provided for residents in the construction zone until pavement removal and restoration are complete. The project is expected to be substantially completed by April 17, depending on weather conditions. Rochelle Municipal Utilities and its contractors are also replacing street lights in the work zone. Detour signs and other temporary traffic control devices will be posted near the area. Drivers are asked to use caution and watch for warning signs and road closed signs near the construction zone.
