ROCHELLE — The Rochelle City Council approved an ordinance authorizing the city manager to execute a pole attachment agreement with Frontier North Inc. The agreement allows the company to attach telecommunications equipment to city owned utility poles and renews a previous contract that had expired. The updated agreement sets a rate of $25 per pole per year, which city officials said Monday reflects current market conditions and helps ensure proper compensation for the use of city infrastructure. Officials said the agreement also provides a steady revenue stream to help offset maintenance and replacement costs for utility poles.
