Oregon to Host 39th Annual Candlelight Walk Tonight

OREGON — The City of Oregon will celebrate its 39th Annual Candlelight Walk tonight from 3 to 8 p.m., a tradition that began when merchants at Conover Square Mall created the first event to mark the holiday season. The celebration has grown to include the entire community with family-focused activities, local entertainment, Candy Cane Lane treats, a Holiday Gift Fair, Sip and Shop at The River’s Edge, and a Kid’s Winter Carnival at the United Methodist Church.

Chance D. Munroe, Executive Director of the Oregon Area Chamber of Commerce said that all your favorite activities will be returning.

“This year is Candlelight 39 and we’re really excited for it,” Munroe said.  “We’ve got some new things that we’re bringing in this year that we haven’t had before. And of course, we’ve got all the classics that we’ve had, the carriage rides, the cocoa huts, the Christmas tree lighting.”

Visitors can also register at participating Red Bow merchants for prize drawings.
