OREGON — Oregon is moving forward with a major slurry seal project after the city council approved an allocation of $200,000 in Motor Fuel Tax funds last week. The plan covers a larger area of the city over two years, which officials say will allow the council to skip maintenance projects next year.
While the formal request is for $200,000, City Manager Darin DeHaan noted that the actual bid is expected to be lower. “It should be right around 175 [thousand]… just in case of fluctuations. So it should be under the 200,000,” DeHaan said. The extra funding provides a buffer for rising oil prices. The project also includes a $6,000 alternate to repair the driveway at Well 5.
