ROCHELLE – An online fundraiser has been started to support the family of 27-year-old Mariah Avila, who is currently on life support after what authorities said appeared to be an attempted murder-suicide in Rochelle on January 26th. The Rochelle Police say they were called to an apartment building in the 100 block of West McConaughy Ave, where they reportedly found 29-year-old Spencer Contreras deceased and Avila unconscious but breathing. The incident remains under investigation by the Rochelle Police Department, the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit.
