At approximately 2153 hours, deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of W Blackhawk Drive in Byron. Ireland A. Griep, age 29 of Rockford, was arrested for Driving While License Suspended and cited for suspended registration. Griep was released on a Notice to Appear with a future court date. All suspects are presumed innocent.

Domestic Battery
At approximately 1847 hours, deputies were dispatched to the 5400 E. Gurler Road in Ashton for a domestic disturbance. Christopher D. Hahn, age 34 of Ashton, was arrested for Domestic Battery and transported to the Ogle County Jail pending a court appearance. All suspects are presumed innocent.
Single Vehicle DUI Accident with Injuries
At 1814 hours, deputies responded to a single-vehicle rollover on N Rock City Road at W Coffman Road. The vehicle, a white 2010 Toyota Rav4 operated by Amanda M. Johnston, age 42 of Mount Morris, failed to navigate a curve, rolled multiple times, and seriously injured Johnston and passenger Aaron P. Bratek, age 48 of Mount Morris. Johnston was arrested for DUI-Any Amount of Drug or Intoxicating Compound and cited for Improper Lane Usage, Failure to Reduce Speed, and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. Both were transported to FHN Hospital. Deputies were assisted by German Valley Fire/EMS, Forreston Fire/EMS, and Illinois State Police. All suspects are presumed innocent.

Sebastian Real, age 27 of Elgin, was arrested for Driving with No Valid License and cited for no rear splash guard. He was released on a Notice to Appear. All suspects are presumed innocent.

At approximately 2048 hours, deputies responded to the 13000 block of W Milledgeville Road. Jason Brown, age 50 of Polo, was arrested for Domestic Battery and transported to the Ogle County Jail pending court appearance. All suspects are presumed innocent.
Accident with Injuries
At approximately 2058 hours, deputies responded to a single-vehicle rollover in the 10000 block of N Illinois Route 2, Rockford. Joshua E. Merril, age 32 of Mount Morris, sustained serious injuries. He was cited for improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Deputies were assisted by the Byron and Oregon Fire Departments. All suspects are presumed innocent.

Tenicela-Vazquez, age 26 of Rockford, was arrested for Driving with No Valid License and cited for no insurance and suspended registration. He was released on a Notice to Appear. All suspects are presumed innocent.
Sex-Related Investigation
Ogle County Sheriff’s Detectives began an investigation in the Mt Morris Estates Trailer Park involving a 15-year-old victim. James Cicchetti Jr, age 38 of Mt Morris, was arrested for Criminal Sexual Assault (Class 1 Felony) and held at the Ogle County Jail pending a detention hearing. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

At approximately 2134 hours, deputies responded to a single-vehicle accident in the 1700 block of N Illinois Route 251. Xavier List, age 21 of Rockford, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and cited for failure to reduce speed, improper lane usage, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. List was transported to a hospital and released on a notice to appear. Deputies were assisted by Lynn-Scott-Rock Fire and EMS. All suspects are presumed innocent.

At approximately 0023 hours, deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 2000 block of South Lowell Park Road. Alyson R. Augustyn, age 34 of Byron, was arrested for DUI and cited for BAC >0.08, speeding, and illegal transportation of alcohol. Augustyn was transported to the Ogle County Jail and released on a Notice to Appear. All suspects are presumed innocent.
Commercial Overweight Arrest
At 1208 hours, deputies investigated an overweight semi-trailer in the 8800 block of N IL RTE 251. Apolinar Herrera, age 40 of Chicago, was arrested on an Ogle County warrant and cited for being 12,000 pounds overweight. He was released on a future court date. All suspects are presumed innocent.

At approximately 0256 hours, deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 11000 block of N Illinois Route 2. Jermaine L. Wilson, age 42 of Woodstock, was arrested for Driving While License Suspended and cited for expired registration and inoperable registration light. He was released on a Notice to Appear. All suspects are presumed innocent.
Aggravated Cruelty to Animals Arrest
Detectives began an investigation into multiple deceased dogs at Mount Morris Estates Trailer Park. Michele Botheroyd, age 34, and Adam Latham, age 41, both of Byron, were arrested and charged with 4 counts of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals (Class 4 Felony). They were released on Notices to Appear. Ogle County Animal Control assisted. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

At approximately 2033 hours, deputies responded to a single-vehicle accident at W Coffman Rd and N Adeline Rd. Douglas W. Kleckler, age 41 of Leaf River, was arrested for DUI and cited for BAC >0.08, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, and improper lane usage. He was released on a Notice to Appear. Deputies were assisted by Forreston Police and German Valley Fire/EMS. All suspects are presumed innocent.

Williams, age 37 of Rockford, was arrested on a Lake County warrant and for Unlawful Use of a Weapon. He was detained on the warrant and given a future court date on the UUW charge. Fatal Structure Fire
At 0207 hours, deputies responded to a structure fire in the 8000 block of S Thorpe Road, Rochelle, with one resident inside. James Supancic, age 84, was killed in the fire. Multiple agencies assisted. Preliminary findings indicate the fire stemmed from a supplemental heat source. Investigation is ongoing.
Single Vehicle Hit and Run Accident
At 1609 hours, deputies investigated a hit and run in the 6700 block of S Joanne Ave, Rochelle. Eloy Cervantes, age 44, was cited for failing to report an accident, no insurance, failure to reduce speed, and no valid registration. He was released on a Notice to Appear. All suspects are presumed innocent.

At 1704 hours, deputies responded to the 6000 block of E Flagg Road, Ashton. Donald E. Whaley, age 50, was arrested for Domestic Battery, and Duane A. Jacobson Jr, age 55, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant. Both were held in the Ogle County Jail pending court. All suspects are presumed innocent.

Two-Vehicle Accident with Injuries
At 1221 hours, deputies responded to Baileyville Road and Coffman Road, rural Forreston. Neville Hayes, age 66 of Lemont, struck Mark Frederick, age 71 of Forreston. Frederick suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Freeport Memorial Hospital. Hayes was cited for failure to yield. Deputies were assisted by Forreston Fire/EMS and Police. All suspects are presumed innocent.
Felony DUI Crash
At 1636 hours, deputies responded to the 6000 block of N Mulford Road. Austin T. Ryan, age 31 of Rockford, was arrested for multiple DUI-related charges and cited for failure to reduce speed and improper lane usage. Ryan and an 8-year-old passenger were evaluated by Monroe Center EMS. Ryan was released on a Notice to Appear. All suspects are presumed innocent.

At 0724 hours, deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash in the 1000 block of S IL Rte 2. Brandy Wowk, age 42 of Rockford, collided with a semi driven by Howard Feary, age 73 of Polo. Wowk was transported to OSF St. Katharine’s Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Deputies were assisted by Oregon Fire/EMS and Police. All suspects are presumed innocent.

At 1448 hours, deputies responded to IL RTE 38 E and S Woodlawn Rd., Creston, for a two-vehicle accident. John Davidson, age 55 of Creston, collided with a Toyota Avalon driven by Marlene Pecka, age 72 of Colona. Pecka and passengers Diane Pecka, age 48, and Gary Pecka, age 76, were transported to Rochelle Community Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Deputies were assisted by Illinois State Police, Rochelle Fire, and Creston Fire Departments. Investigation ongoing. All suspects are presumed innocent.
