Kris Wexell (5:30am-10am) Kris brings listeners a refreshing approach to mornings with his upbeat & fun sound. Kris has been in radio for over 30 years originally from The Quad Cities, and has covered events such as the ACM Awards, CMA Music Fest in Nashville and CMA Awards in Nashville along with many other big and local concerts, fairs and events. Kris also is a voting member of ACM & CMA.

In 2024 & 2025 Kris was chosen as one of Radio Ink’s Top 25 Country Radio Program Directors, in the country. The awards were presented at Country Radio at CRS (Country Radio seminar) in Nashville. In 2025 Kris was named one of the Best Program Directors in America by Radio Ink.

In 2015 the IBA named Kris one of the top 2 Best Radio Personalities in the state, & in May of 2014 the 98th General Assembly of Illinois recognized Kris for his work on The Coyote.

In 2018 for the 3rd year (2016, 2017 & 2018) in a row Kris was named number 1 “Best Radio Personality in the state of Illinois by the IBA for small market. In 2019, 2020 & 2021 named number 1 Best Local Broadcast Team in the state of Illinois for The Coyote Morning Show.

December 2025 WYOT-FM was been named one of only 50 stations nationwide to be finalists for the prestigious 2026 NAB Crystal Radio Awards. These awards honor radio stations for their outstanding year-round commitment to community service and local impact through initiatives like fundraising, disaster relief, and general civic engagement

Charles Van Horn (News/Sports) Charles has had a lifelong love for radio, especially Shortwave Radio and AM broadcasting, since a very young age. He currently lives in Mendota with his daughters, cats, and a collection of nearly running classic Chryslers. Charles spent nearly a decade on the radio in the Illinois Valley as a DJ, News Director, and class clown. You can find most often where there is breaking news, a trivia night, or free food.

Gary Petersen He has pretty much done it all in the Radio Business!  He has been a disc jockey, back when they really used records, a sports broadcaster for over 40 years, programming, sales, management, and ownership of SuperHits 93.5 and The Coyote. Gary has a love for many types of music, especially 60’s and 70’s Rock, and both old and new Country. When not working, he loves to spend time with his wife and their family, plus hiking in Colorado.
