MENDOTA — The ninth annual Polar Plunge at Lake Mendota is scheduled for Feb. 28, with registration at 9:30 a.m. at the Mendota Civic Center and the plunge at noon. Participants must raise at least $100 to support Special Olympics Illinois through the Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run, which funds sports training and competitions for athletes with intellectual disabilities. Region A Director Katie Risley said, “That is plunging into a lake and it is another great plunge that we host,” and noted, “We have changing tents.”
