Illinois won their final regular season game on Sunday as they beat Maryland on the road 78-72.
The Illini are now (24-7) for the season and finished in second place in the Big 10 Conference at (15-5).
David Mirkovic led Illinois with 22 points and 11 rebounds.
Maryland is now (11-20) for the season. They were led by Andre Mills who had 30 points.
The Illini will play in the quarterfinals of the Big 10 Tournament on Friday at the United Center in Chicago.
