Illinois looks for their second win in the South Region of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament Saturday night when they take on VCU.
The Illini won their opener on Thursday over Penn 105-70 thanks to a 65-40 second half.
Illinois was led by David Mirkovic with 29 points and a school record 17 rebounds.
Freshman All-American guard Keaton Wagler had 18 points and 7 assists.
The Illini are now (25-8) for the season.
VCU reached the second round of the tournament with an upset win over North Carolina 82-78. They are now (28-7).
The game is scheduled to begin at 7pm.
