Illinois House Approves Bill to Regulate Home and Auto Insurance Rate Increases

SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois House approved a bill to regulate price increases of home and automobile insurance. Supporters said consumers are facing increased costs they can’t afford and the legislation would put a review process in place for rate increase for both industries. Opponents said the move would repel insurance companies from the state. The measure now heads to the Senate.
