SKOKIE – The Illinois Holocaust Museum is mourning the passing of founder and survivor Samuel Harris. Harris died yesterday at the age of 90. Born in Deblin, Poland, in 1935, he was one of the youngest known survivors of the Holocaust. Harris served as Museum President from 2002 to 2009 and continued as President Emeritus. Governor Pritzker issued a statement saying, “Sam experienced the very worst of humanity, yet spent his entire life believing in and bringing out the best.”
