CHICAGO – The American Automobile Association reports the national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline fell slightly from last week and remains the lowest for this time of year since 2021. Prices are expected to rise as spring nears and refineries switch to summer blend fuel and tensions between the United States and Iran could also push crude oil costs higher. Current average prices are $2.81 in Ogle County, $2.87 in Lee County, $2.92 in DeKalb County, $2.93 nationally, and $2.97 in Illinois.
