DEKALB – The 25th annual Freezin’ for Food event will be held December 4th through the 6th at the Sycamore Hy-Vee to collect non-perishable food and monetary donations for the Salvation Army.
“Over the past 25 years we’ve collected nearly two and a half million pounds of food, and every donation helps families in DeKalb County,” said TD Ryan, coordinator of Freezin’ for Food.
Donations of canned goods, peanut butter, soups, toiletries, cleaning products, and pet food are encouraged. Volunteers will collect contributions outdoors in freezing temperatures, continuing a tradition of community support for families in need throughout DeKalb County.
